Tunde

"TUNDE" is a pilot project for a series profiling music and musicians throughout Africa. Despite fame and fortune, many musicians choose to live and work close to their humble neighborhood roots. Music is everywhere in Mali, from cities to remote villages, where people listen to their culture's music with deep affection and pride, keeping the music authentic and drawing musicians from around the world.

Through extraordinary cinematography, the film captures Malian life and culture from camel caravans in the desert to the market in Djenne to fishermen of the Niger river. Using music and performances as soundtrack, the film includes Kasse Mady Diabate and Tunde in London studios, as well as Tunde's rare Paris concert, playing from his highly acclaimed "Lamentation" recording.
